Opened in September 2008, this Silver LEED certified building is 500,000 square feet of beauty and brawn. Her 32,000 square foot ballroom and 150,000 square foot exhibit space make her a career gal with excellent references. But her open lobby, public art and famous Cree shimmer wall show she has a beautiful side as well.
Like an exquisite necklace, the 9,284 square foot piece of art is made up of 79,464 light and dark aluminum squares that change as the squares flap in the wind. It is backlit with 56 light-emitting diodes (or LEDs). The effect is an amazing old Oak tree whose branches are blowing in the breeze.
